나이age
The word "age" means how old a person is. In Korean, 나이 is used when you ask or talk about someone’s years, like a child, parent, or friend. You can use it in simple questions and answers in daily life.
세대generation
The word "generation" means people of a similar age, or one family level such as grandparents, parents, and children. In Korean, 세대 can talk about family generations or different age groups in society. You will often see it when people compare older and younger people or describe a family living together.
The difference
세대 means a group of people around the same time of birth, like parents’ generation or children’s generation. It is not one person’s age.
