Difference between to come and to come down in Korean

오다to come
The word (오다) means to come. Use it when someone or something moves toward you or arrives at a place. It is also used in everyday expressions like talking about people coming, buses coming, or rain coming.

내려오다to come down
"To come down" means to move from a higher place to a lower place. In Korean, 내려오다 is used when someone comes down stairs, a mountain, a tree, or from an upper floor. It is a common everyday action word you can use at home, at school, or outside.
The difference
오다 means coming toward the speaker in a general way. It does not tell you that the person is moving downward.
