When to use it

형편 means a person’s or family’s situation or circumstances, often about money, daily life, or what is possible. You often hear it in phrases like “집 형편이 어려워요” for a difficult home situation. It can also mean that something is or is not possible right now, like “형편이 안 돼요.”
