When to use it
Escape means to get away quickly from a person, place, or danger. In Korean, 도망 is often used when a person or animal runs away, or when someone tries to avoid trouble. You will often hear it in simple situations like a pet escaping, a child running off, or a thief running away.

Our cat ran away from home.
쉬는 시간에 저는 교실 밖으로 도망갔어요.
During break, I ran out of the classroom.
비가 갑자기 와서 사람들은 공원에서 도망갔어요.
